Holly is passionate about delivering integrated communication strategies in alignment with long-and short-term goals. Her portfolio includes brand management, digital communications, marketing communications, media relations and public affairs communications.

Most recently while at Central Michigan University, she wrote student and alumni profiles to support recruiting activities and was the ghostwriter for a year-long blog. She spent nearly 10 years at Saginaw Valley State University, where she expanded her marketing communication expertise in the digital marketing arenas, including website development and social media platforms.

Prior to SVSU, Holly worked at Dow. She was a business communications manager for specialty chemicals (2004-2008). In this role, she developed business-to-business marketing communication plans to meet business goals. In 2004, she was named public affairs manager and developed internal communication plans for flexible work arrangements and a new employee recognition program. She joined Dow in 2001 as the media relations manager for Dow’s Michigan Operations. She developed relationships with local reporters and managed the public affairs crisis response plan and on-call volunteers.

Her career began in higher education at Davenport University (formerly Great Lakes College) as the director of marketing communications. She then spent three years at Central Michigan University coordinating recruiting materials with the Undergraduate Admissions and the Marketing / Publications Office.

Holly earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). She earned her Master of Arts degree from Saginaw Valley State University in Communications and Digital Media, and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Olivet College.

She lives in Freeland, Michigan with her husband and son. She is active in the community. She is an elected member of the Freeland Board of Education, a volunteer with the Freeland Boy Scout Troop 323 and the Freeland Athletic Association. In her spare time, she likes to scrapbook, garden and spend time on the water.
